By becoming a member of the TMRP you will be contributing financially to help us achieve our aims and ensure the future of the project. You can become an Annual Member by paying a small monthly subscription via standing order or a donor member by donating a larger, one-off amount.
Membership will provide you with regular updates by way of our newsletter - Miniature Matters - and invitations to exclusive Member Events at Tyseley Locomotive Works. More importantly, you will know that you are playing your part in enabling us to provide a facility for budding engineers of the future to "cut their teeth" on the 15" guage format or the older volunteer who simply wants to get involved with a worthwhile project, as well as helping preserve a bit of history along the way.
Come and get "hands-on" with us either at Tyseley on a Thurday night, involving manual work, or alternatively, from the comfort of your own home helping with administrative tasks. There are plenty of things to do (as you will see below) and if you know someone else who might be interested, do suggest they get involved too. We're a friendly bunch who will welcome you with open arms and show you the ropes.
Literally starting from scratch we need to lay our track down to our own design and then keep it in good order with regular maintenance and checks. We will need volunteers to take on such duties and form a permenant way gang.
Working with both wood and metal we need volunteers to help renovate and maintain our carriage stock. In the closed carriages we also need to replace all the seating upholstery and keep the glass windows in good order. Undercariage work on all coaches will be needed on wheelsets and air-brakes where fitted.
All our volunteers will have the opportunity to learn how to drive all our locomotives, whether steam, petrol or eventually battery-powered. Being 15" guage we fall under the auspices of the Office of Road & Rail and have to abide by their regulations. As such all volunteer drivers will need to pass a test to be allowed to operate the locomotives to a required standard.
All projects need money and publicity in order to be successful. Anyone who is willing to offer their time and experience in helping out in any of these areas would be very welcome indeed.
If you're interested in any of the above simply click on the comment button in the bottom right-hand corner of this page and complete the form confirming how you would like to get involved. a member of our team will get back to you in order to get you on board.
